The City of El Dorado Engineering Department wants to inform the public of a road closure and detour on Central Avenue (US-54). Beginning tomorrow, Wednesday, Aug. 28, a one-block section of Central Avenue between Vine Street and Griffith Street will be closed to all traffic. This closure is necessary to facilitate the replacement of water distribution infrastructure within this block.
A detour will be in place to accommodate both eastbound and westbound traffic on Central Avenue. Eastbound traffic will be rerouted via Vine Street to Locust Avenue, then to Griffith Street, before returning to Central Avenue. Westbound traffic will follow the reverse of this route.
The detour is expected to remain in place until Friday, Aug. 30. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to improve our city’s infrastructure.
