Waterline Replacement Project at Central/Haverhill

This waterline replacement project at the intersection of Central Avenue and Haverhill Road is part of the city's ongoing efforts to improve water distribution and reliability in the community by replacing aging waterlines beneath the intersection. The project will include the installation of new 8-inch and 10-inch water mains using trenchless installation to bore them under Central and Haverhill, reducing surface disturbance. It also will include new valves and connections to improve operational control and service coverage.

Construction Start Date: July 14, 2025

Completion Date: The project is estimated to take 30 working days

Contractor: Apex Excavating, LLC

  1. Project Purpose

To complete the work safely, lane closures will be implemented at three corners of the intersection: 

  • Northeast corner (outside eastbound lane on Central Avenue)
  • Northwest corner (outside westbound lane on Central Avenue)
  • Southwest corner (outside southbound lane on Haverhill Road)

These closures will be maintained throughout construction.
